Two days in Seydukwa, a rich human experience

Seydukwa is an Arhuaco indigenous village located in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, along the Magdalena River. The departure point for this 2-day activity is from Palomino, a beach town at 2h bus drive from Santa Marta in the direction of La Guajira.

Sierraventur Travel allows you to stay overnight in an Aruhaco village. This experience is unique, and only a few people are lucky enough to participate as they don’t receive tourists ordinarily. The indigenous communities living in the Sierra Nevada have another conception of the world, and they grant more importance to the spiritual side of life. Come here with open-mindedness and be curious if you want to enjoy it fully.

Seyduwawa is about 1h30’s hike, with many short breaks to learn about the medicinal plants on the trail. Once you’ve arrived, turn off your mobile, pick your favorite hammock, and enjoy this peaceful and quiet environment. Through the day, the local guide and the inhabitants will ask you to observe and participate in their different daily tasks like the various workshops of cacao, coffee, coca, sugar cane, weaving. Don’t hesitate to ask all the questions you want!

Thanks to this experience, you’ll get a better understanding of the indigenous culture and their way of living. We’re sure you will get a fresh look at the world after this unforgettable 2-day activity.

It’s the ideal tour to add to your Colombia itinerary if you want to share a unique moment with an indigenous community living in the Sierra Nevada.
